Richard Ofori’s future is also up in the air and a decision hasn’t been taken by the club just yet.

According to the latest transfer reports, the Bucs are not willing to gamble with their goalkeeping department.

Mpontshane will be offered a one-year contract extension to avoid a potential situation where Sipho Chaine is their ONLY experienced goalkeeper at the club.

Orlando Pirates to offer goalkeeper a contract extension?

“Yes its true, his current contract is coming to an end in June but looking at the situation right now, the team is offering him a one year extension.” an insider told SoccerLaduma regarding the Orlando Pirates goalkeeper.

“It’s only good for the team to keep him. What if Ofori doesn’t sign and they don’t get the goalkeepers they want from Sekhukhune United and Richards Bay? What will happen?

“So that’s why they are going to keep Mphotshane for at least one year. For now, its not a done deal as they have to offer him one year for now. Let’s wait and see what will happen before the end of the season.”
