Stellenbosch stun Orlando Pirates in the Cape!

Orlando Pirates get their 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign underway this evening at the Danie Craven Stadium.

Jose Riveiro’s side face a tricky test first up in Steve Barker’s Stellenbosch FC.

The Buccaneers are high in confidence having closed out last season on a high note while going through their pre-season unbeaten.

Stellenbosch on the other hand have lost a few key players heading into the new season however it’s not something new to them.

Barker’s side always seem to find new players to step up to the plate for them and he’ll be hoping this happens from match day one!

Jose ready for bumper August

“I think they are a very well-coached team and they showed it last season when they went through different stages during the year and managed in the end to find a way to win games.” the Orlando Pirates coach said as quoted by SowetanLive.

“They are a bit unpredictable because they can manage different types of proposals. They played in a way we didn’t expect last time in Orlando.

“We are going to play eight games in August, five in the league, so we have the opportunity to collect 15 points.”
