Spotted: New Pirates signings’ jersey numbers
As usual, Orlando Pirates have utilised the previous transfer window. We’ve spotted the jersey numbers of the three new players.

Orlando Pirates’ new arrivals in July 2023 were Katlego Otladisa, Siphelo Baloni, Melusi Buthelezi, and Patrick Maswanganyi. Three newer faces arrived in January.

NEW ORLANDO PIRATES SIGNINGS
As announced by the Sea Robbers last month, the new arrivals are Thalente Mbatha, aged 23, from SuperSport United, and Thabiso Lebitso, aged 28, from Chippa United.
Additionally, Tshegofatso Mabasa, aged 27, has returned from a loan spell at Moroka Swallows.

With Mbatha playing in central midfield, Mabasa being a center forward, while Lebitso is a winger that is rumoured to be moving into a wing-back role. So how will they fit in Jose Riveiro’s set-up?
“Joining Orlando Pirates is a significant milestone in my career, and I’m eager to make a meaningful contribution to the team’s success,” Lebitso told the club.

As a build-up to the game against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday night at 20:00, Pirates posted a few visuals that revealed the jersey numbers of the new players.
- Thalente Mbatha – Number 41
- Thabiso Lebitso – Number 37
- Tshegofatso Mabasa – Number 19.
