Orlando Pirates provide update on their injury list.

Orlando Pirates will be without one of their key players ahead of their MTN8 quarter-final match against Sekhukhune United on Saturday evening.

This week, the Sea Robbers explained the absences of Thembinkosi Lorch. The winger is yet to play this season after complaining of a hamstring strain.

“Pirates have had a few minor injury worries early in the season, with key players such as Miguel Timm and Thembinkosi Lorch yet to feature this season, while new signing Katlego Otladisa sat out the home clash against Royal AM due to a knock picked up in the season opener,” the club said in a statement on Friday.

Pirates are the defending champions of the MTN8, having won the trophy last year. They come into the match having beaten Royal Am 4-2 mid-week but they could be without Kermit Erasmus, Vincent Pule, Miguel Timm and Kabelo Dlamini, who are all nursing injuries.

The club confirmed that Lesedi Kapinga and Karim Kamvuidi were inching closer to their respective Bucs debuts.

Bucs medical team assured fans that none of the players sidelined suffered long term injuries and should return to training very soon. This week, Pirates also confirmed the appointment of Helmi Gueldich as their new conditioning coach on Thursday.

This appointment comes at the right time as the Buccaneers are featuring in this season’s CAF Champions League. Gueldich will come in handy later this season and injury-prone players like Lorch, Vincent Pule and Erasmus are expected to benefit.
