Orlando Pirates part ways with defender Gladwin Shitolo

Orlando Pirates have parted ways with Gladwin Shitolo ahead of the upcoming 2021/22 DStv Premiership season.

Orlando Pirates have parted ways with Gladwin Shitolo ahead of the upcoming 2021/22 DStv Premiership season.

The 31-year-old defender joined the Buccaneers from Jomo Cosmos in 2014 but has spent the last six years away on loan with Platinum Stars, Golden Arrows and Chippa United.

He has now officially been released, with an Orlando Pirates statement reading: “Orlando Pirates FC can confirm the amicable parting of ways with Gladwin Shitolo following a meeting between both parties.

“The club would like to thank Shitolo and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates also confirmed that Justice Chabalala’s proposed loan move to Chippa United has fallen through.

“Orlando Pirates FC would like to clarify that after initially announcing the loan move of Justice Chabalala to Chippa United, the 29-year-old defender will no longer be joining the Chilli Boys, as the player has instead preferred a loan move to Sekhukhune United,” concluded the statement.

Shitolo has one Bafana Bafana cap to his name – against Namibia in October 2020
