The Buccaneers have reportedly already triggered their option to extend the Zimbabwean’s contract at the club by one more year.

“He has one more season left at Pirates via an option and at the moment we’re speaking to the club and with Terrence of a possibility to a longer-term contract.” Makaab told iDiskiTimes.

“So we are in discussions as we talk, Terrence will remain at Orlando Pirates for the new season. It was a very tough spell for Terrence in the beginning but his professionalism and commitment to the club when he got a chance was nothing short of remarkable.”

In other news, Manchester United first team coach Benni McCarthy believes Orlando Pirates shouldn’t celebrate their 2022/23 campaign.

The Buccaneers lifted TWO titles in the form of the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup.

They also finished in second place in the DStv Premiership, albeit well behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Despite their double triumph and securing CAF Champions League football for next season, McCarthy believes it wasn’t ‘good enough’!

Buccaneers must do better – Benni McCarthy

“It’s hard to say if it was a good season for Pirates because you play all year to win the league.” Benni McCarthy told KickOff.

“Winning the MTN8 Cup is great, and winning the Nedbank Cup is also great but I think the big one that you chase is the league.

“In there, they’ve had a great season but by their standards, that’s not good enough. You’re supposed to be pushing Sundowns all the way to the wire. It should be a far closer contest than what it is.”
