Arriving at Orlando Pirates as a new player is a daunting surprise many players never quite recover from, but not all of them. Some players just take to the Sea Robbers like they’re born Buccaneers.

SIBISI ARRIVES AT ORLANDO PIRATES

As The South African previously reported in June, the 26-year-old player, who it is unconfirmed if he hails from Durban, Howick, or Empompeni in KwaZulu Natal, joined Pirates in July from Golden Arrows.

Sibisi, who grew up idolising the great Mbulelo Mabizela, emerged from the Arrows reserve team before wearing Bafana Bafana colours and earning interest from Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

DREAM START IN SOWETO

So how good has Sibisi’s Bucs start been? The player known as ‘Bhodlela’ (bottle) simply started every single game this season under Jose Riveiro.

He has been the most trusted selection in the heart of a back-three defence in six PSL games as well last weekend’s MTN8 quarter-finals against Royal AM.

Additionally, Sibisi, who also has a goal, has scooped two Man of the Match gongs from the seven games. He earned the awards for the games against Swallows FC on matchday one and the Royal AM in the cup.

Can he go on to win a couple more? Certainly.

Meanwhile, Sibisi and his teammates are now preparing to take on Maritzburg United at the exciting Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday evening at 17:30.
