As The South African website previously reported, Dzvukamanja demanded to be released in order to find a club closer to him in Zimbabwe before the former Bidvest Wits forward suddenly signed for United.

“SuperSport United FC is pleased to confirm the signature of Zimbabwean International Terrence Dzvukamanja for an undisclosed transfer fee,” the club said.

STAN MATTHEWS COMMENTS

“Dzvukamanja was an unexpected but big signing for us,” Matthews said via iDiski Times.

“A player that Gavin knows and loves really well. A player who had a cracker second half of a season last year.

“To be blunt, we tried to bring Terrence in January and kind of Pirates pushed us off.

“After he did all what he did for them, I really didn’t believe we had a chance to bring him. The way that things transpired with him was kind of a pleasant surprise in a way.

“I was asked if I was prepared to make an offer on Terrence by his agent. I indicated that I would be prepared to make an offer on Terrence and I indicated what the maximum offer I would be able to make was – Pirates moved that offer (laughs), but accepted it, because he is a big player for us,” the SuperSport boss concluded.
