Following an inspiring run in Spain for pre-season, Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has delivered some wise thoughts.

ORLANDO PIRATES UNBEATEN IN THREE GAMES

The trip started with a 1-0 win over Israel’s Maccabi tel Aviv, followed by a 3-1 victory over Ecuador’s Independiente before the final game against La Liga’s Las Palmas which ended goaless.

JOSE RIVEIRO GIVES HIS REPORT

According to the ever-cool Spaniard, his team has improved the key area of applying high-concentration for 90 minutes.

“We played against teams that forced you to play focused and concentrate during the 90 minutes,” said Riveiro, as quoted by FARPost.

“It’s one of the aspects that we need to improve on this season, to be consistent during the 90.

“We are going to play many crucial knockout games where one mistake is killing your dreams, killing your hopes.

“So we need to play like the way we did against Las Palmas. The top team, top tier in La Liga, required a level of concentration that we are not used to in the domestic league.

“We learning a lot of lessons for the future little by little to be more competitive than we were last season,” he added.

“So happy with the performance during the training camp. We had the opportunity to play three quality matches to represent Orlando Pirates and South African football. We did it in a professional way with very good performances,” the Pirates tactician concluded.
