ORLANDO PIRATES SIGN PATRICK MASWAGWANYI FROM SUPERSPORT UNITED

As The South African website previously reported in June, the 25-year-old inside winger from Tembisa was announced as a Buccaneer from SuperSport United.

Why was the deal so unexpected? The former Stars of Africa Academy graduate and Académica de Coimbra (Portugal) star did not score a single goal in 23 appearances last season.

“I did not know that the team wanted me and that I was going to go play for it. I was really shocked but also proud of myself,” the player known as “Tito” told the club.

So how has life been as a Buccaneer so far?

Maswanganyi, who plays his football wide on the right or left, scored on debut in a friendly against Maccabi Tel Aviv before finding the net again in the match against Ecuador’s Independiente.

Additionally, the same player scored again as Pirates defeated TS Galaxy on Sunday afternoon.

HIS FAVOURITE ARSENAL PLAYER

Meanwhile, Maswanganyi has revealed which player he loves to watch on SuperSport 203.

“I really enjoy watching Martin Odegaard, who plays for Arsenal, I think he plays really well,” said Maswanganyi, as quoted by FarPost.

“Most of the time, I try to emulate his style, particularly how he’s able to find spaces in the pockets, how he turns and position himself. I really admire his style of play,” the new Pirates attacker added.
