ORLANDO PIRATES SIGNING OF THE DAY

Today’s featured transfer is the man with the famous short career at Tottenham Hotspur after what was an instant success at the Buccaneers. The name is Mbulelo Mabizela.

Born in Pietermaritzburg, “OJ” started his career at Maritzburg City before moving to Soweto in 2001 at the age of 20.

As one of the first-ever ball-playing center-backs in the league, and possibly in world football, Mabizela played two seasons in a black shirt before catching Spurs’ attention in English Premier League in 2003.

Unfortunately, his career with Spurs was cut short in 2005 after a troubled social life in London.
