Pirates: Sundowns, Ndlondlo, Erasmus, Jali – Five things we expect

Ghosted by goals? Orlando Pirates will be back to answer this question this week. There are two DStv Premiership and MTN8 games.

Things change rather swiftly in this game. Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro was a darling just a few weeks ago. He is now suddenly entering this week under pressure.

Why so? The men in black have offered an embarrassing goal drought.

THE PROBLEM WITH ORLANDO PIRATES

The mighty Sea Robbers just simply waste goal-scoring chances. With just one goal in eight games, Bucs draw games they should win and lose games they should win.

Having played and dominated 11 PSL games as well as two matches in the MTN8, Pirates have only bagged five wins. It’s a dismaying return if you consider the sheer volume of wastage in front of the goal.

FIVE THINGS TO EXPECT THIS WEEK

With Pirates continuing with their business on the pitch this week, the first job will be in Durban at Golden Arrows on Tuesday night.

The second and biggest game of the week will be the trip to Tshwane to face the PSL champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

What do we expect?

  1. At least one goal in each game, at least one. Otherwise what is being done at training?
  2. Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo to continue as the creative spark in the number 10 role for Pirates
  3. The superstar striker Kermit Erasmus to earn his second straight start after he sparkled against AmaZulu last week
  4. A decent to massive crowd in Kwa Mashu against Arrows
  5. Thrilling and knife-edge entertaining against Sundowns in the MTN8 second leg semis on Saturday.
