Pirates midfielder stuck in limbo, awaiting club’s decision

Makhehlene Makhaula’s contract at Orlando Pirates comes to an end in June 2024.

The hard-tackling midfielder has struggled for game-time at the Buccaneers this season.

Makhaula has made just four substitute appearances for Orlando Pirates this season and according to reports, the club are yet to decide if they’re going to trigger his contract extension clause or not!

“As far as I know, Makhaula is still an Orlando Pirates player. He has the option on the contract,” Makhehlene Makhaula’s agent Sizwe Ntsangase told iDiskiTimes.

“But I’d say whoever wants to speak about him, must contact the club.”

“Professional football players have to perform and sometimes make mistakes. We all make mistakes in our professions. We are not superheroes, we don’t do everything perfectly. It was a mistake, but football is a game of mistakes.” Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro said, as quoted by Sowetan.
