Orlando Pirates have parted ways with one of their attackers – effective immediately. Moreover, arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs are interested.

Eva Aga has just been released from Pirates. This means he is now a free agent.

Furthermore, Amakhosi has reported taking an interest in his newfound availability.

CHIEFS INQUIRE ABOUT EX-PIRATES STRIKER

Chiefs are believed to be one of two clubs interested in signing Nga.

“Yes, Chiefs are one of the clubs that has already inquired about him. That interest was there before, and now it could work even to their favour because he is a free agent,” the insider reported on SoccerLaduma.

The other club interested in Aga is his former side, Chippa United.

However, Amakhosi is leading the race for his signature at the moment.

Therefore, both clubs can sign him any time they want because, as a free agent, he is not restricted by transfer deadlines.

“There are other clubs interested as well including his former club Chippa United. You know it only happened yesterday, so it could take time, and teams won’t rush now because he is a free agent. But Chiefs are in front for now,” he added in the same publication.

CAVIN JOHNSON AND AMAKHOSI YET TO SIGN EXTERNAL PLAYERS

It must be noted that Amakhosi has yet to sign any players from outside the club system. In fact, their only signing to date has been Mound Vilakazi, who has earned first-team promotion.

Meanwhile, Johnson and manager Bobby Motaung have both stated that they have no plans to sign players in the current transfer window. So, it will be interesting to see if ex-Bucs star Aga becomes an exception or if they look to sign him at a later stage. Amakhosi were previously interested in the striker before he joined the Sea Robbers, and they have reignited their interest in securing his services.
