MTN8 champions Orlando Pirates have issued a huge update on Lorch, Timm and Erasmus, explaining their absence so far this season.

Orlando Pirates have explained that the absences of Thembinkosi Lorch, Miguel Timm and Kermit Erasmus are down to injuries.

Riveiro not drawn on individual player absences
The Buccaneers have been without key trio Thembinkosi Lorch, Miguel Timm and Kermit Erasmus for their first two league clashes of the season. Head coach Jose Riveiro refused to talk about individuals after the Bucs’ defeat to Stellenbosch in their league opener.
However, the club have confirmed the absence of Lorch is due to injury, while new boy Katlego Otladisa picked up a knock in the 1-0 defeat to Stellies.
“I can confirm that Lorch has been ruled out due to injury. He is joined by Otladisa who suffered a blow to the knee after a poor tackle from an opposing player,” said physio Kutlwano Molefe.

Pirates stated that Kermit Erasmus, Vincent Pule, Miguel Timm and Kabelo Dlamini are all nursing injuries at the moment but Molefe stressed that they aren’t long term issues. They could all be back in training soon.
“As a medical department, we have acted swiftly to address the injuries and this is key in ensuring the swift turnaround of the injured players to getting ready,” he added.
“Through these interventions, we are confident these players will be back soon.”
Pirates Sekhukhune United in a replay of last season’s Nedbank Cup final when they begin the defence of their MTN8 crown. That quarter-final clash kicks off at 6pm on Saturday 12 August.
