Orlando Pirates have been eyeing out this target for sometime. Now, he is set to undergo trials at Mayfair as he looks to impress Bucs management.

Orlando Pirates have been eyeing out this target for sometime. Now, he is set to undergo trials at Mayfair as he looks to impress Bucs management.

Bucs management have identified the need to reinforce their defence.

Therefore, they have invited Zimbabwean defender Frank Makarati for trials.

Makarati has been monitored by the Pirates technical team for a while now. However, now they want to see how he does playing with other Bucs stars.

“For now, Pirates are interested in him and what they want to do is invite him for trials. They are not signing him straight away,” the insider stated on SoccerLaduma.

Meaning, he will get the chance to prove his worth during his trial period.

This is an oppurtunity for him to earn a Bucs contract.

However, as previously mentioned, it is important that he gels well with the players as this is the key defining factor that could determine whether he is signed by the Soweto giants or not.

“Yes, they have monitored him while he was playing for Dynamos but they want to see how he can do when in the presence of other Pirates players. The league has just ended in Zimbabwe so I can’t say when he will be travelling to South Africa but they are working on that,” he added.
