Orlando Pirates‘ casualty room is slowly freeing up with one key midfielder already back on the pitch to do partial training.

Thabang Monare has confirmed that he’s rejoined his Pirates teammates at the training grounds, and that he’s making progress in his recovery.

In his absence, the likes of Goodman Mosele, Ben Motswhwari and Miguel Timm proved to be useful as they put in some solid shifts in midfield for Pirates.

And Monare admitted that Pirates have quality players in almost every position, including the central midfield position where he’s playing.

While he doesn’t know if he will be back in the near future, Monare is just focusing on his recovery and giving his teammates all the support they need.

Pirates are in action against AmaZulu in the MTN8 final on Saturday, and with only three days to go, chances of Monare featuring look gloom.

The other Pirates player that could miss this important Cup final is none other than Thembinkosi Lorch who is still busy with his rehabilitation.

THABANG MONARE RETURNS FOR ORLANDO PIRATES BUT…

“I have started doing partial training with the team and it is looking good,” Monare told the media on Tuesday.

“You always want to be part of the team but the team has quality and everything they need at the moment.”

“So, it is just a matter of focusing on recovery and supporting the team. The rest will take care of itself,” added Monare
