An Orlando Pirates legend believes the Buccaneers are currently the ‘best’ team on the continent and can win the Champions League

Edward “Magents” Motale has made a bold statement regarding the current Orlando Pirates squad.

The Buccaneers are currently on a 15-game unbeaten streak and are looking like a well oiled machine of late.

And according to the Bucs legend, pound for pound, the Mayfair side are the best team on the continent!

“No, we don’t have the right team. We have the best team. We have good players in all the departments. Looking at how we won the two trophies and finished second in the league shows you how good the team is.” Motale told SoccerLaduma.

“That’s (Orlando Pirates’ pre-season camp in Spain) great. It’s really a great move. They will see how the Spaniards and other countries do things.

“They should play Spanish, German and English teams so that when they go to Cameroon or Ghana then they are not intimidated.

“Also, it’s summer there and it’s good to train there because in other parts of Africa it’s very hot so they should get used to playing in that heat as early as possible. It’s really good that they went to Spain.”

In other news, Former Orlando Pirates defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza has been released by Richards Bay FC.

The Veteran defender spent just one season at the club following his seven year spell at the Buccaneers.

Nyauza made 22 starts for the Natal Rich Boys, scoring one goal for the club.

He can now join any club after becoming a free agent.

“DStv Premiership side Richards Bay FC have decided to part ways with veteran defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza after one season at the club.” a KickOff report read.

“Richards Bay have since also terminated the services of Khetha Shabalala while deciding against renewing the contract of Ndiviwe Mdabuka.”
