Orlando Pirates are closing in on the signature of a highly sought after Marumo Gallants winger ahead of next season

Katlego Otladisa reportedly prefers a move to Orlando Pirates amidst interest from three other PSL clubs.

Royal AM, AmaZulu and Sekhukhune United are all interested in the Marumo Gallants winger.

Otladisa was key in their impressive CAF Confederation Cup run, assisting six goals in all competitions for the club.

It now appears that Otladisa is close to joining the Buccaneers!

“The player is keen on Orlando Pirates and they’re the club that has shown intent to meet Gallants’ valuation. It is likely that he will join them.” an insider told FARPost.

In other news, Manchester United first team coach Benni McCarthy believes Orlando Pirates shouldn’t celebrate their 2022/23 campaign.

The Buccaneers lifted TWO titles in the form of the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup.

They also finished in second place in the DStv Premiership, albeit well behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Despite their double triumph and securing CAF Champions League football for next season, McCarthy believes it wasn’t ‘good enough’!

Buccaneers must do better – Benni McCarthy

“It’s hard to say if it was a good season for Pirates because you play all year to win the league.” Benni McCarthy told KickOff.

“Winning the MTN8 Cup is great, and winning the Nedbank Cup is also great but I think the big one that you chase is the league.

“In there, they’ve had a great season but by their standards, that’s not good enough. You’re supposed to be pushing Sundowns all the way to the wire. It should be a far closer contest than what it is.”
