A former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs striker has resurfaced at a rather surprise Motsepe Foundation Championship side

Former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs striker Siphelele Mthembu is set to sign for a rather surprise PSL club.

Siphelele Mthembu has been without a club since parting ways with AmaZulu back in 2020.

And now, according to reports ‘Shaka Zulu’ is set to sign for Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies.

“Former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs striker Siphelele Mthembu is training with the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies.” a ThisIsFootballAfrica report read.

“Amid the fresh uncertainty of Mthembu’s future. This publication has been reliably informed that Callies are currently in talks with the striker as they intend to add him into their squad.”

In other news, Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori looks set to extend his contract at the Buccaneers according to reports.

Though he’s struggled with injuries since joining the Bucs, when called upon the 29-year-old has been solid for his side.

Ofori has made 13 appearances for the Buccaneers this season, keeping seven clean sheets in the process. This includes two in their cup winning MTN8 run.

Star keeper to extend contract at Mayfair?

According to reports, the Mayfair based club are set to begin negotiations with Ofori whose contract comes to a close in June 2023.

“I think a lot of people know that Ofori’s contract is ending next year, so, obviously there has to be talks between the player and the management.” a Citizen report read.

“It has to happen soon because if you take time in such situations you might end up losing the player. He is the number one choice at the club and the management obviously want to keep him.”

The publication further claim that both Orlando Pirates FC and Richard Ofori’s camp are keen on an extension.
