Pirates captain breaks silence on Thembinkosi Lorch’s exit!

Thembinkosi Lorch’s move from Orlando Pirates to Mamelodi Sundowns shocked many including his own former teammates!

Orlando Pirates captain Innocent Maela has opened up on Thembinkosi Lorch’s shock move to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

Lorch completed a surprise deadline-day move to Rhulani Mokwena’s side last month.

Maela admitted that it was quite an emotional experience losing his long-standing teammate to a rival team. Take a look at what the Bucs captain had to say below.

“Look, I’ve shared special moments with Lorch; through my eight years at the club, he’s always been by my side.” Innocent Maela told FARPost.

“When he left Orlando Pirates, it was quite emotional. But we are mature enough to know that in football, players come and go, and the club remains.

“I wished him well, and the team wishes him well where he is now. I mean, Lorch gave us beautiful moments, and he’ll always be remembered.”

In other news, Orlando Pirates have reportedly decided against chasing Royal AM star Shaune Mogaila’s signature.

The 28-year-old speedster has long been linked with a move to the Buccaneers.

According to the latest reports, Royal AM are fighting tooth and nail to hold on to their star man due to their ongoing Fifa transfer ban!

Buccaneers throw in the towel?

“Royal AM is doing everything to keep Shaune Mogaila in the team for longer. The club is in a tough situation with the transfer ban and is making everything possible to convince Mogaila to stay. The negotiations are still ongoing.” a source told SoccerLaduma.

The publication further claimed that due to the current situation, Shaune Mogaila won’t be joining Orlando Pirates next season.
