Orlando Pirates: Patience and belief behind comeback win

Orlando Pirates midfielder Goodman Mosele said that his team had to show belief and patience to come from behind to beat SuperSport United in midweek.
With Mosele pulling the strings from midfield, Orlando Pirates came from behind to level matters before claiming a stoppage-time winner as they beat SuperSport United 3-2.

The visitors bossed the first half but crucially couldn’t finish off the hosts at Orlando Stadium despite establishing a 2-0 lead early on.
In the end it would be Mosele who snatched victory for Orlando Pirates with a rocket strike.

“What I can say is that they planned for us, because when the game started, they pressed us. They didn’t allow us any space to play. So, their plan worked in the first 15 to 20 minutes. They continued pressing us and we couldn’t really play but as the game went on, it started opening up a bit more,” Mosele told Pirates’ media department after the game.
“For us to come from two goals down, we obviously had to push. We pushed hard and we got the penalties, it was great going into half time at 2-2.
“In the second half we kept our shape, and they were getting tired as it is impossible to press like that for the entire game, so it opened up a lot and that is where I stepped in,” he said.

How things stand for Orlando Pirates
The win brought Orlando Pirates level on points with Kaizer Chiefs, although their Soweto rivals have two/four games in hand depending on the outcome of their SAFA arbitration.
Pirates are now 16 points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Sea Robbers top their Caf Confederation Cup group, looking good to progress to the quarterfinals.
