Kaizer Chiefs can now begin preparations for next season after their 1-0 defeat to SuperSport at Royal Bafokeng Stadium today. Matsatsantsa will battle it out with Orlando Pirates for 2nd place in the PSL on the final day of the campaign.

Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport United will battle Orlando Pirates to the finish line for 2nd place in the PSL, which would secure progress to the CAF Champions League next season. Pirates and SuperSport have almost identical records, with the Buccaneers currently holding 2nd place by virtue of superior goal difference. Pirates travel to AmaZulu on the final day while SuperSport are away to Sekhukhune, who drew 1-1 with Pirates today in a dress rehearsal for the Nedbank Cup final.

Another disappointing campaign for Chiefs will peter out and they could even finish 5th if they lose to Cape Town City on the final day of the season. They also have no trophies to show for their efforts this term. Chiefs have now lost four of their last five matches across all competitions.
