The 28-year-old centre-back has played just 11 times this season, including eight league games, two Nedbank Cup ties and a MTN8 encounter.

In the previous campaign, following his switch from Swallows, Ngcobo made 15 appearances, also mainly used off the bench.

Kaizer Chiefs have 5 league matches left

Amakhosi have five matches remaining to achieve their goal of a second-place league finish and Ngcobo is willing to play any role offered to him to help the team achieve that target.

He said on IOL: “I think it’s very important for every player to stay ready so that when you get a chance, you can be able to help the team.

“In fact, if you check, we are a small group that really enjoys working with one another and helping each other. Personally, I am already here to help the team when I get a chance.”

Ngcobo added: “Every player has dreams and goals for the season. Mine didn’t go as planned. But I think the team is getting to where we want it to be, if you check how we are trying to win games.

“You can see now we are going to the semi-finals. So I think that (the team’s progress) is the one thing that’s more important than me playing regularly. If we are winning, all is well.”
