The wait is edging closer to an end. Newest Kaizer Chiefs signing Luke Fleurs has made progress towards action.

LUKE FLEURS NEARS KAIZER CHIEFS DEBUT

The 24-year-old central defender made his move to Amakhosi in October 2023. Fleurs spent several weeks on trial before finally putting pen to paper. The deal was signed after he left SuperSport United as a free agent. Chiefs confimred a two-year contract that includes a one-year option.

“We are very excited and happy to have Luke join us. The young man has great technical abilities and I think he will fit really well into how we want to approach the game and the kind of football we would like to play going forward,” Chiefs’ Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. told the club’s media.

“Of course, being a youth international and having experienced the Olympics, as well as having many PSL games under his belt, we believe his attributes will benefit the team,” the boss added.

Fleurs added to express his pleasure on signing for the mighty Chiefs.

“I feel so pleased to sign because I always wanted to be part of the Glamour Boys. There is a great bond here; it has that family feel. I just wanted to get started on the job of winning silverware. This is the biggest Club and I want to help us win things,” Chiefs’ Mitchells Plain-born star said.

“We have been training well and I am used to the set up. Results haven’t been going our way lately but we will turn it around through hard work, because there is great talent here and we will get it right,” the former Ubuntu FC player concluded.
