Nasreddine Nabi’s arrival at Kaizer Chiefs has been delayed but it’s going to be worth the wait for Amakhosi fans.

Nabi speaks of the Kaizer Chiefs ‘value’

Nasreddine Nabi will soon link up with his new club and assume the head coaching role at one of the continent’s biggest clubs. Austin Ditlhobololo from Goal has reported on why the Tunisian tactician chose Chiefs over other lucrative or appealing options.

“I chose the Kaizer Chiefs offer because it is an honour for me to supervise a team of Kaizer’s value. At the same time, as a Tunisian and an Arab, I have this responsibility and this opportunity, I can learn about a different culture, football and socially, which is a gain I always aspire to, without giving myself too much value.” Nabi told Ditlhobololo.

Chiefs fans will like the sound of that.

Will Nabi bring a striker with him?

According to UnplayableZA on X, Nasreddine Nabi has zeroed in on Tumisang Orebonye as his first potential signing as head coach at Naturena. The 28-year-old striker plays under Nabi at FAR Rabat and has 40 caps for the Botswana National team alongside Thatayaone Ditlhokwe. The prolific hitman has four goals and an assist from 15 league appearances in 2023-2024. That’s a healthy ratio of direct goal contributions. The player will also cost absolutely nothing as he joined FAR on a six-month loan deal. If he hits the ground running and puts the ball in the net, Amakhosi fans will start loving Nabi for his talent ID abilities.

Da Cruz assessing a new midfield talent

Nabi’s new assistant Fernando Da Cruz is taking a closer look at young midfielder Siphesihle Tati according to iDiski Times. Born in August 2004, Tati will only turn 20 next month. When asked in 2021 which local player was his favourite, he said it was Nkosingiphile Ngcobo. Meanwhile, veteran midfielder Keagan Dolly has been released.

“Kaizer Chiefs’ talent Siphesihle Tati is currently training with the senior side as he is being assessed by the coaching team. iDiski Times received information that the midfielder is currently training with the senior side, and he is under the assessment and watchful eye of Fernando Da Cruz, who will soon be announced as the assistant coach. ‘Zizo’, as he is affectionally, known had a good season in the DDC last season, carrying the Amakhosi side alongside Neo Bohloko, and helping them to finish in the top four.”
