Milford FC coach Dr. Xanti Pupum and his team made history on Sunday evening when they eliminated Kaizer Chiefs from the Nedbank Cup

Pupum, who is also the chairman of the club, revealed he grew up supporting Amakhosi.

Kaizer Chiefs were once again embarrassed after minnows Milford FC sent them packing out of the Nedbank Cup following a penalty shootout.

Milford’s keeper Siphamandla Hlezi was the hero at the FNB stadium having denied Ranga Chivaviro from the spot kick in extra time.

“The entire family of Milford supports Chiefs, but the players are going to compete. Everyone knows playing against Chiefs is a motivation on its own,” Pupum said after the match.

The Milford coach revealed he was once a Kaizer Chiefs fan many years ago.

“Look I am a football fan more than a Chiefs fan, yes I grew up following Kaizer Chiefs just like growing up where certain parties were the majority parties from a political point of view.

“Later on in life, things change. You grow a little bit older and new developments [happen] around you, so it would be impossible to [own] a team and then be a fan of another team, even worse so when we bought the professional status.
