Mokwena lashes out at media after Mamelodi Sundowns loss

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rhulani Mokwena has lashed out at members of the media in the DR Congo following his side’s loss against TP Mazembe.

The Brazilians went down 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Stade TP Mazembe Stadium in their CAF Champions League group stage clash.

Rhulani Mokwena felt disrespected in the post match press conference while threatening to end the conference.

“What do you mean we were not involved to score? Themba Zwane hit the crossbar in the first half, Sailor Mudau hit the upright in the second half. I mean I don’t understand. You want to tell me we came here to lose the game?.” – Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokwena said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“That’s very very disrespectful, we don’t work hard and put so much hours to come and lose a football match.

“I find your question a little bit disrespectful. To be honest if that’s the spirit that this press conference will be in, we may as well end it.

“Because I come here with respect and humility to respect you guys and respect Mazembe, you guys show disrespect towards the football club.”

“No good game. I’m happy that we’ve prepared the stadium for SuperSport United. So we play on a very, very good pitch,” Rhulani Mokwena said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“And when we play on a good pitch, that’s one of the conditions you need for a good game. You need three conditions for a good game you need a good team which is Mamelodi Sundowns.

“You need a good pitch which is I think now at Lucas we have a very, very good pitch. And then you need a good opponent.”
