Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns are set for foreign competition for a top transfer target in.

It’s believed that all of Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns are set to battle it out for SuperSport United’s Shandre Campbell

Campbell is enjoying his breakthrough season at SuperSport, having been promoted to the first team. He earned that step up to the senior side, courtesy of his impressive showings for their DStv Diski Challenge campaign. Since getting the nod from veteran tactician, the left-footed wizard has not disappointed. As it stands, he has already racked up nine goals and four assists in 19 games in all competitions.

That is the type of form that has seen many call for Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos to call Campbell up. The last international window seemed to have come to soon for him though. He did, however, headline a list of SA U20 players heading into camp. He has also, caught the eye of the likes of Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns. It is believed that, they will face stern competition from MLS side Chicago Fire according to Soccer-Laduma.

Chicago Fire interested in Campbell

“The Siya Crew can exclusively reveal that Shandre Campbell is being monitored by MLS outfit Chicago Fire. Furthermore, Siya sources have informed the Crew that Chicago Fire have set their sights on the pacey midfielder and are keen to bolster their midHeld options with the signing of Campbell. The 18-year-old was identified as an U22 initiative signing for the Fire and it now remains to be seen if they can entice the three-time league champions with an offer deemed suitable enough to part ways with their star attacker.” Wrote the publication.

Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns all snubbed?

SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews has already reiterated that Campbell will not be sold locally. With that being said, Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns now seem to be out of contention completely.
