Maritzburg United and Black Leopards have each netted just once in three league games this season. Both will be looking to change that when the Team of Choice host Lidoda Duvha at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Leopards came back from behind to draw 1-1 with Highlands Park at Thohoyandou Stadium in their last match, but were unable to find a late winner against an injury-stricken outfit.

Meanwhile, Eric Tinkler’s men controlled much of the game against Stellenbosch at Athlone Stadium, but had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

“We were wasteful again and that’s the disappointment for me, because you need to bury teams like this. I thought we were far superior to them. Yes, once or twice they threatened our goal, but I think we dominated in all areas,” Tinkler told SuperSport TV post-game.

“Again, we were wasteful in front of goal. The chances you create, you’ve got to put them in the back of the net.”

Richard Ofori made some important saves for the Team of Choice and earned the Man of the Match award. Tinkler claimed this was undeserved as Stellenbosch’s Boy de Jong “had a hell of a lot more to do”.

Kick off time and prediction

Prediction: Maritzburg United have lost the likes of Lebohang Maboe, Fortune Makaringe and Siphesihle Ndlovu over the last two seasons, levelling the playing field between these sides. Given that both teams have struggled to find the back of the net so far this season, there is a high chance this match will finish in a goalless draw.
