Judas Moseamedi netted twice as Maritzburg United knocked Kaizer Chiefs out of the Telkom Knockout in November.

Kaizer Chiefs bounced back by maintaining their impressive league form, but it is Maritzburg who will need to overcome recent disappointment when they face Amakhosi again.

The Team of Choice came up short in the Telkom Knockout final, going down 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns. Coach Eric Tinkler has admitted that he will need to work on ensuring that spirits do not drop within the camp.

“I have to try and be a psychologist to a degree, to try and motivate myself and then get the players motivated as well,” Tinkler said.

“They got a couple of days to reflect which also gave me time to reflect and get rid of all the steam. And then we move on.”

Meanwhile, Ernst Middendorp recently picked up his third successive Absa Premiership Coach of the Month award. Chiefs sit pretty at the top of the Premiership table with a nine-point lead, but Maritzburg will be out to spoil the party.
