Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane will surely be hard-pressed to conform to the club’s requirements. What’s his mandate?

A huge transformation took place at Chiefs when Zwane was appointed as the new head coach following Stuart Baxter‘s sacking.

Since then, we’ve seen 14 exits from Naturena while eight new signings have been unveiled as the club continues to bolster its squad.

With all these changes that have been made, what is expected from the coach?

BOBBY MOTAUNG REVEALS MANDATE FOR ZWANE

Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung was vivid that they expect to win trophies early next season. Did he mean MTN 8? Because that’s the only competition that takes place in the early stages of the season.

“So, they are coming in on a mandate that is clear that we need to win trophies, bring back the Chiefs playing style, and make the supporters happy. As a club, we want to win trophies as early as we start next season,” Bobby said as qouted by Soccer Laduma.

“We need to achieve, and we are investing, getting them [Zwane and Sheppard] players they require, the technical support they need from technical systems and technologies.”

WHY CHIEFS MUSTN’T EXPECT A RAPID TURNAROUND?

We all know that it takes a bit longer for a team to gel when they have several new signings and that could be an issue for Amakhosi.

And unfortunately, the gold and black shirt comes with immense pressure. It’s not easy to just don it and shine right away.

• NEW COACH…PERHAPS NEW STYLE

Yes, “10111” has been with the team for quite some time but was not in the driving seat. He might enroot his new style which players can’t acclimatize to overnight.

Bear in mind that it’s been over six years of a rocky road for the club and the first task for Zwane must be implanting a strong winning mentality. That needs some time.
