Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder to leave for more game-time?

Rhulani Mokwena has a major decision to make over the future of one of Mamelodi Sundowns’ talented midfielders!

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Luvuyo Phewa looks set to leave the club once again in search for more game-time.

The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season out on loan at Cape Town Spurs, helping them to promotion via the playoffs.

During the previous season, Phewa was loaned out to University of Pretoria where he showed great signs of progress.

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder wanted by Spurs?

“Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Luvuyo Phewa could return to Cape Town Spurs on a season-long loan move.” an IdiskiTimes report read.

“iDiski Times has learnt that Phewa could be returning back to the mother city on a season-long loan, as he looks to get more regular game-time and help the Urban Warriors in the upcoming 2023/24 season.”

In other news, Former Mamelodi Sundowns man Luís Miquissone is reportedly pushing for a permanent Al Ahly exit.

The Mozambican winger, currently on the books of Al Ahly, was sent out on loan to Saudi Arabia’s Abha FC.

Miquissone made just four appearances for Abha before abruptly leaving the club before season concluded.

The latest reports suggest the former Simba attacker is not keen on returning to Al Ahly, or being loaned out for the remainder of his contract which ends in June 2024.

“The 27-year-old has been training with his former club UD Songo for the past two months and is now due to head back to Egypt for talks on the way forward.” a Kick-Off report read regarding the former Mamelodi Sundowns man.

KickOff can disclose that while his former club Simba are interested the intention is to continue in the Middle East with one Saudi second-tier league club keen to bring him on board.

“Miquissone still has a running contract with Al Ahly and is not keen on another loan move as he prefers a permanent switch if the Egyptians have no intention to retain him.”
