And that’s according to a report by Soccer Laduma, who reports that the Uruguayan has made a U-turn on his desire to leave Sundowns.

In late August, media reports emerged that Sirino had submitted a transfer request to the Sundowns hierarchy to be let go in this transfer window.

However, Sundowns have been reluctant to do so as Sirino is still contracted to them until June 2023 having recently signed a new deal.

Perhaps the idea was to hold on to him for as long as they could in order to cash in on him should there be teams interested on his services.

Nonetheless, the publication reports that there hasn’t been any offers for Sirino although initial reports claimed that he could reunite with Pitso Mosimane at Al-Wahda.

Earlier this week, Mosimane denied ever making a move for Sirino since arriving at the United Arab Emirates (UAE), saying he wouldn’t even have tried because the Sundowns man doesn’t have a price.

This was on the back of Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokwena lifting the lid on the situation, saying the management is handling the matter.

Now, while Sirino has reportedly apologised and wants to stay, the publication reports that the trust between the two parties is broken.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS STAR SIRINO APOLOGISES – REPORT

“The biggest news emerging from the Downs camp is that Sirino has apologised to the coaching staff and hierarchy in a effort to get back into the team and resurrect his career this season,” reports the publication.

“But the trust has been broken, and it’s likely that Sundowns will make a decision about reintegrating him into the squad once the transfer window has been closed and it is known for sure that Sirino cannot leave.”
