Mamelodi Sundowns star Andile Jali has been linked with a surprise PSL club despite being reported to have attracted interest from SuperSport United.

According to FarPost, Stellenbosch FC have entered the race to sign Jali who is highly likely to leave Sundowns when his contract expires in June.
Jali’s future at Sundowns has been up in the air since February when it emerged that he had stopped reporting for duty at Chloorkop.

This was after media reports that Jali had a heated argument with one of the technial team members, and since then, he hasn’t been seen at training.
Now, despite being linked with a number of clubs, including Kaizer Chiefs, AmaZulu, Cape Town City and SuperSport United, it is reported that Stellies have made contact with him.

Jali worked with current Stellenbosch coach Steve Barker at AmaTuks before being transferred to Pirates in 2009.

“The club leading the race to sign Jali is Stellenbosch FC, who have already contacted the player and management,” reports the publication.

Monday, 10 April, was Jali’s 33rd birthday, and Sundowns always wish their players a happy birthday on social media but this wasn’t the case on the midfielder’s big day.

And that raised a lot of eyebrows, and perhaps it was the biggest hint yet that Jali will not be at Sundowns next season.
