Africa will come to a standstill this afternoon when Mamelodi Sundowns host Wydad Casablanca in the African Football League final.
The mega-money tournament, involving eight of the top teams on the continent, saw the Brazilians defeat Al Ahly in the semi-finals while Wydad got past Esperance De Tunis in their semi-final.
The two legged final saw the Moroccan giants earn a 2-1 home victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg.

Peter Shalulile facing late Mamelodi Sundowns fitness test

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rhulani Mokwena has issued an important injury update on star striker Peter Shalulile.
“We just have to be a little bit patient. We have one more training session to see and to look at. I think together with the rest of the technical staff, we’ll make a decision.” – Mokwena said as quoted by FarPost.
Action at Loftus Versfeld stadium gets underway at 15:00 SAST. The match will be televised live on SABC1.

“Let me explain that, after I arrived back at Mamelodi Sundowns, the first Champions League exit was a quarter-final to Al Ahly, the second season was a quarter-final exit to Petro and last season was Wydad in the semi-final.” Rhulani Mokwena said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.
“And so the story written this year, we start with Petro, the team who knocked us out of the quarter-final, then Al Ahly, a foe who knocked us out the season before that. And then last season was Wydad and just because it’s written in the stars, it doesn’t mean the stars are aligned.
“Our responsibility now is to align the stars. And that’s the message, it’s written in the stars but Mamelodi Sundowns still got to work for it. You still have to look for it. It’s the same thing with rain, just because there’s clouds doesn’t mean it’s going to rain.”
