Ighodaro had quietly been going on about his business from Chippa and and it now looks as if he might never go back to Sundowns at all. That is because, the latest reports suggest that the player has attracted the interest of some top clubs from Serbia, North Africa as well as in France. This comes after the Nigerian has managed to score 10 goals in all competitions for a struggling Chippa side. Nine of goals have come in the league, with one coming in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal 2-1 loss to Sekhukhune United earlier this year.

His top form had seen him attract the interest of some top sides in the DStv Premiership, including Kaizer Chiefs. Having seen the likes of Caleb Bimenyimana and Christian Saile firing blanks, it is believed that Chiefs had also decided to take a look at the 21-year-old. But since their own signing of Ranga Chivaviro, Amakhosi has no longer been linked to the Downs star. In recent weeks it was both Chippa and SuperSport United who showed interest in him, as well as clubs in Europe and North Africa.

North African and Saudi clubs interested in Ighodaro

“Raja Casablanca are pushing for Ighodaro, There is also a club from Saudi Arabia who have promised to contact Sundowns this week to enquire about his presence. Both teams want the player as soon as possible. It will all depend on what Sundowns say. Do they want to use him for next season? Do they want to loan him out or just sell him permanently to another club? That’s what will determine his next move and destination,” said the source to the above publication.
