Mamelodi Sundowns renew ‘back-up’ ‘keeper’s contract for another year!

Mamelodi Sundowns have triggered an option to renew one of their goalkeeper’s contract for another season, The South African can reveal.

Mamelodi Sundowns have triggered an option to renew one of their goalkeeper’s contract for another season, The South African can reveal.

Reyaad Pieterse will remain at Sundowns until the end of the 2022-23 PSL season after the two parties reached a decision to renew his deal.

The news was confirmed by Pieterse’s agent in an interview with The South African website on Wednesday morning.

PIETERSE STAYS AT MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

“Sundowns have taken the option to renew Reyaad’s contract. It’s a one-year option. So, he will stay until 2023,” said Roberts.

Pieterse has been with Sundowns since 2018 when he joined them from crosstown rivals SuperSport United – and this was spending two seasons with Matsatsantsa.

And while has been sparingly used, Pieterse did the most whenever he was given the chance to feature by the Sundowns technical team.

In his three seasons with Sundowns so far, Pieterse featured just 16 times across all competitions, and he conceded 11 goals while keeping 10 clean sheets.
