Sundowns beat Orlando Pirates to keep perfect record intact

Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their perfect start to their league campaign with a 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium.

Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their perfect start to their league campaign with a 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.

Lucas Ribeiro Costa scored the only goal of the game from the spot in the first half, and there was no come back from Pirates.

Pirates hardly troubled Sundowns on the day, except towards the end of the game when they showed some sense of urgency in the final third.

Sundowns had a few entries into the Pirates box but their finishing was also not up to the required standard.

In the end, Sundowns easily protected their lead to move to 21 points from the seven league games they have now played.
