Mamelodi Sundowns have beaten Orlando Pirates to the signature of a Bafana Bafana midfielder who recently made his international debut.

Bathusi Aubaas is officially a Sundowns player after putting pen to paper with them from TS Galaxy.

The central midfielder had long been linked with a possible move to Pirates but that angered TS Galaxy boss Tim Sukazi as that could have somehow jeopardised his move to Sundowns.

The news of Sundowns signing Aubaas surfaced earlier this week, and this was seen as a big move for the Bafana Bafana midfielder.

Aubaas will compete with the likes of Teboho Mokoena, Rivaldo Coetzee and Mothobi Mvala for a place in that central midfield.

He is seen as a direct replacement for Andile Jali who parted ways with Sundowns in February but officially left in June.
