‘There’s no income, it’s difficult’ – Ex-Sundowns star

Former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Lerato Chabangu is down and out. “There’s no income, it’s difficult” is what “Ace” is saying.

LERATO CHABANGU STRUGGLING

After starting at SuperSport United youth and the University of Pretoria, Chabangu tasted the big time at Sundowns in 2005.

It was where the Tembisa-born star won the Nedbank Cup and earned 31 caps for Bafana Bafana.

Fast-forward to 2023, and Chabangu is penniless at his family house in Tembisa.

“It’s been hard, but we appreciate that life is still going on,” Chabangu said on PrimeSportsWithMahlatsi.

“You used to getting income but now there is no income, it’s difficult.

“The family used to look to you to contribute but now there is not so much income. They are disappointed.

“The Chabangu name was high, but now my life has stopped.”

LEBOHANG MOKOENA ON SUNDOWNS SALARY AFTER ORLANDO PIRATES

Staying with Sundowns, Lebohang Mokoena has confirmed that Sundowns paid better than Pirates.

After making his name as a teenager promoted from the Pirates academy, Mokoena, known as “Cheeseboy,” soon needed more than the R28 000-R30 000 salary he was earning.
