Mamelodi Sundowns latest: Mayo to Chloorkop deal in jeopardy?

Mamelodi Sundowns‘ pursuit of Cape Town City and Bafana Bafana striker Khanyisa Mayo appears to be in jeopardy.

According to a source known to ThisIsFootballAfrica, the final decision on whether or not Mayo joins Sundowns rests with the Cape Town City management.

But above all, the source doubts City will be willing to sell Mayo to Sundowns at this stage of the season, especially because there is no offer on the table.

Sundowns are reportedly looking to bolster their striking department which somehow looked too thin without the injured Peter Shalulile.

Nonetheless, Cassius Mailula eased that pressure on Sundowns attackers as soon as he was given the chance, but for a team that’s eager to win the CAF Champions League, they definitely need more firepower upfront.

MAYO TO MAMELODI SUNDOWNS DEAL NOT HAPPENING?

“The final decision will lie with the Chairman and the Coach,” said the source.

“If they make a formal bid, are City willing to sell him right now? I doubt it, but for now Mayo is not happening and there’s nothing from Sundowns,” concluded the source.
