According to Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi, Maluleka’s time at Sundowns could be up given the stiff competition he faces at the club.

The fact that Sphelele Mkhulise isn’t playing, Hashim Domingo is also in the mix while Lebohang Maboe is coming back will make it even more difficult for Malukela to feature, said Vilakazi.

IT’S OVER FOR MALULEKA AT SUNDOWNS – VILAKAZI

“George mf’ethu…Ayisekho indaba yakhe (it’s over for him at Sundowns),” Vilakazi told KickOff.

“We still have a Sphelele Mkhulise that is not playing, we still have Haashim Domingo and Lebohang Maboe is back training now, which adds to George’s troubles.

PITSO KNOWS IF SUNDOWNS REALLY NEEDED MALULEKA, SAYS VILAKAZI

Vilakazi claimed that Maluleka left Chiefs for Sundowns after the Soweto giants had offered him a one-year deal while the PSL champions tabled a three-year offer for his services.

But whether or not Sundowns really needed Maluleka’s services is a question Vilakazi feels only Pitso Mosimane can answer..

“The issue with George is his contract at Chiefs was ending and they were offering him a one-year contract while Sundowns were offering him a three-year deal,” said Vilakazi.

“What we don’t know is if it was a business deal, or whether Sundowns really needed the midfielder.

“That’s the tricky part and only Pitso Mosimane can answer that,” he added.

“Him not playing obviously reduces his value, but I think he realised he was no longer a youngster when he decided to sign for Sundowns.”
