Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed details of the late Alex Shakoane‘s memorial service where they will publicly honour him.

Shakoane passed away on Sunday evening, and reports claim that had recently suffered a stroke which he couldn’t recover from.
Shakoane had been at Sundowns for decades if one doesn’t count the few years he was recently not part of the structure.

He served in many capacities, including being the PRO, Media Liaison Officer and most recently the Sundowns Supporters Mobilisation Manager.
Now, according to a statement released by Sundowns on Wednesday, Shakoane will be honoured in a memorial service on Thursday, 11 May in Mamelodi.

Shakoane is set to buried in his hometown of Mamelodi this coming weekend with all the details expected to be confirmed on Thursday.

Al Ahli Saudi coach Pitso Mosimane has paid tribute to fallen Mamelodi Sundowns giant Alex Shakoane who passed away on Sunday night.

As reported on The South African website, Shakoane suffered a stroke in recent months and couldn’t recover from it.

And the South African football fraternity reacted with shock when the news of Shakoane’s passing resurfaced as he was loved not only by Sundowns fans but every football fan.
