Mamelodi Sundowns first team head coach Rhulani Mokwena blessed the club’s under-18 side with an appearance at the ongoing Engen Knockout Challenge.

Mokwena returned from a brief off-season break this week with Sundowns getting their pre-season camp underway in Tshwane.

The Under-18 Brazilians booked their place in the semi-finals on Saturday afternoon after defeating Panorama 2-0. And club head coach Rhulani Mokwena was in Marks Park overseeing the future of the club compete.

The junior Brazilians will next face rivals Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals on Sunday morning.

In other news, legendary former Kaizer Chiefs striker Pollen Ndlanya believes all PSL teams should have a striker/attacking coach.

This comes after the league failed to record a single top goal scorer with the award being shared by Peter Shalulile and Khanyisa Mayo.

The winning duo finished the season on a meager 12 goals each and that’s concerning according to Ndlanya.

“It’s something our so-called big bosses must look up to. They much check what is the problem. For me I don’t think they are worried what is the problem. I feel sorry for the supporters.

“Now the defenders are so relaxed, they are in a picnic, they know that, ‘Ah, there’s no danger there’. It’s a problem.”
