Mamelodi Sundowns latest: Are the Brazilians done in the transfer market?

The PSL transfer window is two weeks away from closing, and it has been a rather quiet period for Sundowns in terms of new signings.

The PSL transfer window is two weeks away from closing, and it has been a rather quiet period for Mamelodi Sundowns in terms of new signings.

The South African website assesses whether or not the Brazilians are done in the transfer market given that they have already added five new faces to team.

To date, Sundowns have signed Lesiba Nku, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Thapelo Maseko, Junior Mendieta and Bathusi Aubaas.

ARE MAMELODI SUNDOWNS DONE SINGING NEW PLAYERS?

According to coach Rhulani Mokwena, Sundowns had intended to bring in five new players in the current transfer window, and they have done just that.

However, Mokwena recently admitted that there is a need for an additional player, and this time a striker who will ease the pressure on Peter Shalulile.

Sundowns have looked blunt upfront in matches where Shalulile wasn’t available for selection although Ribeiro Costa has been in top form in that regard.

What Mokwena’s comments mean is that Sundowns are NOT done in the transfer market. The 36-year-old has already confirmed there are plans in place to sign the targetted striker.

Mokwena, though, warned that whoever Sundowns sign must be at the same level as Shalulile in terms of the qualities he possesses.
