The Brazilians have been unstoppable so far this season with seven wins and a single draw in the eight games they have played.

That’s a total of 22 points from a possible 24; a record they set when they won their third successive league title during the 1999-00 season.

Interestingly, they have also kept eight clean sheets, meaning their are yet to concede a goal in the league this season.

The latest success follows last week’s MTN8 final triumph at the hands of Cape Town City where Sundowns walked away R8 million richer for their efforts.

This means have already collected R9.5 million for their domestic efforts thus far, and they can only hope to build from this.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates finished Q1 (eight games) in sixth and eighth place respectively.
