MAMELODI SUNDOWNS COACH RULANI MOKWENA COMMENTS ON THEMBINKOSI LORCH VIDEO

Lorch, who, let’s be honest, is no stranger to controversy and women, was captured on Instagram live dancing with two unnamed women. While the video does not show any obvious shame, the clip has gone viral and includes a storm of criticism on the Sundowns superstar.

Speaking on the event, Lorch’s coach, Mokwena, said he is aware of the furore. The Bloemfontein-born player called him to express his agony over the event.

“Lorch called me and he was in tears,” Mokwena said on Sports Nights Amplified.

“I don’t want to talk too much about the issue (trending live video) until I’ve spoken to him in person. I will say I’m disappointed, because I also told him this on the phone,” the Sundowns coach added.

RULANI MOKWENA UNHAPPY WITH PSL AWARDS NOMINATIONS

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Mokwena is not so happy with the DStv Premiership award nominations after his South American stars Lucas Ribeiro and Marcelo Allende were omitted.

According to Mokwena, Sundowns’ Lucas Ribeiro, as well as Marcelo Allende, should have been recognised for a few award nominations.

“I’m disappointed, I think he [Lucas Ribeiro] has been phenomenal, he’s just been unlucky with injuries. He hasn’t played so many games in his career and that caught up a bit,” said Mokwena, as per FARPost.

“He’s the best footballer, the best human being and one of the best players I’ve ever coached from a gift point of view and I think he can improve so much more.

“That’s probably the even scarier part because, in his first season, he has performed the way he has performed. But I could say the same about Marcelo Allende, it’s disappointing not to see him amongst the nominees,” the Sundowns mentor added.

“I think Sailor [Khuliso Mudau] has had a good season also, and he’s not part the Defender of the Season at the very least.

“But it’s okay, you can’t have your cake and eat it, can you? We’ve got to celebrate the nomination of Ronwen [Williams], and Tebza. Mine is that, I’m just nominated because I coach very good players and I’m humbled to be in that space,” the Sundowns tactician concluded.
