Lorch has hardly featured form Pirates over the last couple of seasons, with injuries continuously slowing him down for a while now.

Lorch has been injury prone

The tricky forward started the previous season with an injury and took a while for him to return. Lorch, however, returned to good effect in the second half of the season, helping Pirates to reach the final of the Confederations Cup, before Pirates lost to RS Berkane on penalties.

That form saw the player even go as far as impressing Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, who handed Lorch a recall to the national team set up. This season, he has again seemed to succumb to injury and has not been able to help Pirates much on the field of play. One of the best players in the DStv Premiership when fit, ‘Nyoso’ has only managed to appear a meagre five times for the club in the current season.

Have Pirates moved on?

The club, however, has definitely not slowed down due to his absence and in turn, it seems to have given Pirates a chance to allow the likes of Monnapule Saleng, Zakhele Lepasa as well as the returning Kermit Erasmus to blossom in the colours of the Buccaneers. With the club also known to have even more options in those attacking areas, It has begged the question, are they now finally in a position to move on from Lorch.

Lorch has often been the subject of a move away from Pirates in the past couple of seasons, with both local and international clubs mooted. Locally it was rivals Mamelodi Sundowns who have been rumoured to be tracking the player since the days of former coach Pitso Mosimane. In fact, so big has the admiration for Lorch been for Mosimane, that he was also linked with a move to the player while he was coach of Al Ahly

Could he be joining Mosimane?

Nothing came off that interest in the end, but if the latest social media antics of Lorch are anything to go by, things could be different this time around. That is because, as spotted my iDiskiTimes journalist Makhonco M, Lorch only follows two clubs on Instagram, Pirates and Al Ahli which is coached by Mosimane. Hint hint? You do the math.
