Kaizer Chiefs lose Soweto Derby

In the first of two Soweto Derby clashes inside five days, Chiefs have taken an untimely defeat as they prepare for a meeting with Orlando Pirates. in next weekend’s Nedbank Cup semifinal. There’s no margin for error. For their part, Swallows have moved up to 8th in the table with this win. This is their second win on the bounce and third in their last five outings.

How will Arthur Zwane pick up his Amakhosi charges after this? Chiefs have to now win both of their remaining games and hope Pirates lose all three of their remaining contests because the Buccaneers have a vastly superior goal difference and lead Chiefs by five points. Chiefs have won just one of their last four league clashes.

Chiefs season now hinging on Nedbank Cup?

Realistically speaking, The Glamour Boys’ season now hinges on the Nedbank Cup. If they go all the way in that tournament, Amakhosi will qualify for the CAF Confederations Cup.

How do you feel, Chiefs fans? Surely this isn’t what you envisaged at the outset of the campaign? The PSL campaign seems to have gone up in smoke.
